In the video Canada’s comedy giants gather for Second City reunion, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a group of fictional Canadian family members who hosted “Great White North”, a ad lib skit which was shown on second city television for the show’s most liked season when it aired by the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the 1980s. The character Bob McKenzie is created by comedian Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie’s part is played by actor Dave Thomas. Regardless the fact it was created originally as fluff to both fulfill and makes jokes about legal Canadian content guidelines, the pair morphed into a pop culture success in both Canada and the US. The McKenzie brothers later became the focus of a bestselling comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
