  1. None of these acts, except maybe Joni Mitchell, have any songs remotely as good as "Takin' Care of Business" and "You Ain't Seen Nothin' Yet". "Let It Ride" is pretty dang good too. Go BTO! Also, maybe Jimmy doesn't know The Guess Who very well, because "These Eyes", "Laughing", and "Undun" all seem like they'd be right in his wheelhouse. And of course "American Woman" is one of the all-time great songs.

  2. In terms of the Whitesnake vs.Ratt, there was no question. Ratt had some catchy songs, but Whitesnake had catchy songs too with the trump card of Coverdale's voice. So there was no suspense at all on who the choice was. I was 12 in 1987, so I'm familiar with both bands. I guess you can compare them in terms of their legacy. Ratt's "Round and Round", again a catchy song is used only for commercials kind of as a joke. Whtiesnake's "Here We Go Again" is pretty much a karaoke staple. It's a great song.

  3. Jimmy, ever listen to Sloan? Fantastic Canadian band I think you’d love. “Everything You’ve Done Wrong” sounds like a homage to Chicago. But check out their record Navy Blues, ya gotta dig, man.

  4. Loved this episode! No you left out Loverboy and Honeymoon Suite and Aldo Nova and April Wine and BTO and Tom Cochrane and Max Webster and (gulp) Anne Murray but you redeemed yourself with TRIUMPH!!!!! Loved that Saga made the cut as well. Completely agree with your assessment of RATT vs. Whitesnake.

  5. Can't believe Bryan Adams isn't on this list. I understand the ones on it after being a long time listener of NNF, but Bryan should be on it. He was who I wanted to marry when I was 15 when Cuts Like A Knife came out.

  6. Those are all good choices. However, I simply must include Loverboy. Same band (with one exception) after 41 years, great catalog, still put on a rocking show, and Mike Reno is a great guy.

Also, Whitesnake is wayyyyy better than Ratt.
