Bob and Doug McKenzie in Canadian Christmas

In the video Canadian Christmas, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a pair of fictional Canadian actors who were featured in “Great White North”, a improv which was introduced on SCTV for the show’s most watched season when it moved to CBC Television in the 80’s. Bob’s part is played by Rick Moranis and Doug is acted by actor Dave Thomas. Despite created originally as a skit to both satisfy and mock silly Canadian content guidelines, the two turned into a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and America. The McKenzie brothers went on to become the focus of a classic comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
