Bob and Doug McKenzie in Canadian Group Build
In the video Canadian Group Build, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a couple of hysterical Canadian comedians who can been seen in “Great White North”, a sketch which was shown on SCTV – second city television for the show’s most liked season when it braodcast by CBC Television in the eighties. The bit was developed originally as fluff to both please and makes jokes about silly Canadian content statutes, the two turned into a pop culture sensation in both Canada and across the border. The two became the focus of a an amazing comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.

Great job on the Hobby Craft ? Otter . Too small for my eyes to build! A lot great builds and thanks to Max for all your hard work.
Kirk and Scotty may have been Canadian, but not the French kind, so I'm okay with it.
[0:50] Or Australian antiaircraft fire. He was autopsied with several .303 slugs in him from a Lewis gun.
Best viewers build ever! I did not understand your Canadian build, until I saw the movie reference. I spent several days attending an Academy meeting in Toronto and it was wonderful. I even got to touch Stanley and get my picture taken next to it. Much thanks are due you! Andy
Brilliant collection!
Ironically, the great balladeer, Stan Rogers — Northwest Passage — died in a fire on board an Air Canada DC-9.
What a stupid video recomendation.
Timmies coffee isn't that good and the doughnuts are always day old. Canada needs to try harder
So many awesome builds! I wish I could have gotten my possum van finished in time but there was just no way… I'll definitely send some pics when I can manage to get it done for a regular viewer build
Cool Race Car builds!!
Red Green would be proud!!.. Keep your stick on the ice!!
I loved the cartoon Peanuts as a kid.. Love that Snoopy and Woodstock build!!
Some Gorgeous builds here!!
SCTV was so cool, watching those TV's fly out the condo windows was the best. Thank you!
Great video and fun music too, Max! Love that Beaver on floats at the beginning… well done Troopers.
Sharing this before it's done with my Canadian World of Tanks clan mate Humpiedu. (Edit) Sadly, no one makes a model of the Bricklin.
Bravo Max, and all contributors. Fabulous work all.
Beauty vid eh ,model on
Great stuff, especially the music as enhancement!!! But no Gordon Lightfoot? Alberta Bound, wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald, Canadian Railway Trilogy? Just to name a few eh.
Look forward to your stuff everyday.
Watching this made me remember that I left my Monty Python album with a dorm-mate back in 1975, and I never got it back. LOL
Great job everyone. Awesome work max Have a great one
Canadian Snowspeeders deserve their own video.
Another collection of great builds – air, land, sea, and space. Thanks everyone.
Some killer-great models here – love the "Century Circle" at 08:56, not to mention the Revell BOMARC in, uh – custom markings!
These were all outstanding. Max the deer popping out of your diarama was the icing on the cake. Great work to everyone. Great video Max.
Richtofen was shot down by an Australian Army machine gunner on the ground .
Great video of great build's, well done all
Great work again Glue Troopers. Love the snowbird speeders and the Golden Hawks .The single engine Otter is beautiful. Great job, eh Max?
I like the snoopy and woodstock hockey!
Thanks so much for this Max! As usual you did a masterful job with this video! Keep 'em coming!
The “Northwest Passage” song was a great choice too. It’s too bad there wasn’t a few more CDN ship models shown – a number of the more modern RCN ships are available in resin. I think Trumpeter does a WWII destroyer model like the HMS Haida that is berthed in Hamilton Harbour.
If one had the old MPC or AMT kit of the AMC Pacer, you could have done the “Mirthmobile” from Wayne’s World. With Mike Myers, that’s CDN content!
Great video,
Great models.
Great music.
Eh?
Thanks Max, great salute to us Canadians eh? I loved all the music and builds. Don't forget your prayers tonight eh. "I'm a man, but I can change, if I have to, I guess."
Very very disappointed in the political commentary. I suppose it will be OK for me to make a lot of anti US Government statements in the future.
The original Canadian SCTV with these guys was magical. I'm old enough to have seen it when cable TV was beginning in the early 80s.
I came for the models and stayed for the music..but the models were darn nice too, eh.
Cold beer on the road, what could go wrong?
