Bob and Doug McKenzie in CBC Midday: Dave Thomas and his book SCTV Behind The Scenes

In the video CBC Midday: Dave Thomas and his book SCTV Behind The Scenes, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a group of imaginaryfunny Canadian siblings who are responsible for “Great White North”, a segment which was broadcast on SCTV – second city television for the show’s 3rd season when it got sent to CBC Television in 1980. The character Bob McKenzie is created by hilarious comedian Rick Moranis and Doug’s character is played by actor Dave Thomas. Although developed originally as an idea to both please and makes jokes about annoying Canadian content rules, the two morphed into a pop culture smash hit in both Canada and the US. The characters went on to become the focus of a an amazing comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
