In the video Cheech & Chong – Santa Claus and his Old Lady, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a group of imaginaryfunny Canadian siblings who created “Great White North”, a show which was shown on SCTV for the show’s most popular season when it streamed by CBC Television in the 80’s. Bob’s part is created by Rick Moranis and the character Doug is brought to life by the comedian Dave Thomas. Although created originally as a skit to both fulfill and makes jokes about network Canadian content laws, the two transformed into a pop culture hit in both Canada and across the border. The pair enetually would become the focus of a bestselling comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.

4pm on the school bus as an 8 year old growing up in Fresno. The bus driver cranked it every time this was played, which was daily in the CV back then, and we all laughed. Together.
