Bob and Doug McKenzie in Cherie & George – I ain’t goin’ nowhere

In the video Cherie & George – I ain’t goin’ nowhere, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a pair of odd Canadian family members who are responsible for “Great White North”, a skit which was introduced on SCTV – second city television for the show’s most popular season when it was aired on the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the 80’s. Bob’s character is created by actor Rick Moranis and Doug’s character is acted by Dave Thomas. It was made originally as a skit to both fulfill and laugh at silly Canadian content legislation, the duo became a pop culture hit in both Canada and across the border. The McKenzie brothers went on to become the focus of a classic comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
