In the video Claire Wyndham & Dave Thomas Junior – What Happens Next, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a group of hysterical Canadian comedians who are responsible for “Great White North”, a ad lib skit which was featured on second city television for the show’s most popular season when it was broadcast on CBC Television in the 80’s. Bob McKenzie is created by actor Rick Moranis and the character Doug is created by the comedian Dave Thomas. The sketch was born originally as filler to both satisfy and laugh at dumb Canadian content legislation, the duo morphed into a pop culture hit in both Canada and the United States. The characters went on to become the focus of a bestselling comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
