Bob McKenzie is acted by comic Rick Moranis and Doug’s part is performed by the comedian Dave Thomas. Which was made originally as filler to both satisfy and laugh about dumb Canadian content rules, the siblings turned into a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and the US. Makes me tear up every time
One of Rick Moranis’s greatest scenes
You know, in 1989 I thought this was really romantic. But then I realized he’s a terrible husband throughout the whole movie and only appreciates his wife once she’s left him. The scene always came off as kind of creepy after that. Maybe I’m just jaded lol.
The best part of the scene is cut out with the kids clapping
We miss you Wayne Szlinski
I like how RIck Moranis is always shorter than his movie wives.
❤ 🙁
I love how he also manages to be his own backing vocals to his own voice lol.
Best scene in the movie or close to it at least.
For me, the definitive version of this song, as well as perhaps the most romantic moment in all of film. The way his voice cracks on the line “create a dream come true” is utter magic.

Best scene in the movie
That is awesome!
I loved this scene.
At 1:30 is Howard Dorough
Better known as Howie D from the Backstreet Boys.
1:31 the kid in the blue is Howie from The Backstreet Boys
Someone please put this to music. I would do it myself but I really suck at it.
Are we just gonna ignore the fact that Howie D was in this scene?
Who else misses Rick Moranis?
