Bob’s character is played by comic Rick Moranis and Doug’s character is played by the comedian Dave Thomas. The bit was made originally as an idea to both satisfy and laugh at legal Canadian content demands, the characters turned into a pop culture hit in both Canada and the US. The brothers enetually would become the focus of a classic comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
