In the video Coles Corner – cover by Dave Thomas O’Gorman, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a group of odd Canadian actors who starred in “Great White North”, a improv which was shown on SCTV – second city television for the show’s third season when it got sold to CBC Television in 1980. The character Bob McKenzie is created by comic Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie is played by Dave Thomas. Despite developed originally as a skit to both satisfy and mock network Canadian content rules, the characters became a pop culture sensation in both Canada and America. The McKenzie siblings soon became the focus of a famous comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
