Bob McKenzie is performed by the funny Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie’s part is brought to life by Dave Thomas. The bit was made originally as filler to both follow guidelines and laugh at legal Canadian content legislation, the characters became a pop culture sensation in both Canada and across the border. The McKenzie brothers soon became the focus of a hit comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
