In the video Dave Thomas – Artist and all round entertainer, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a duo of odd Canadian brothers who were featured in “Great White North”, a program which was introduced on second city television for the show’s most popular season when it got sold to CBC Television in 1980. Bob McKenzie is played by Rick Moranis and Doug’s part is performed by Dave Thomas. Although made originally as fluff to both fulfill and laugh about network Canadian content guidelines, the pair grew up to be a pop culture hit in both Canada and America. The pair later became the focus of a famous comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.

Dave Thomas was born in Wales in 1950. He studied art in English and Welsh colleges during the 1970’s. In the early 1980’s he was appointed Head of Art Department of the International School of Milan, Italy.
After travelling the world Dave found his “paradise” in the southern highlands of NSW and has since been a much sought after portrait artist. Dave has been a finalist in the Archibald Prize and twice finalist in the Doug Moran National Prize.
For the past twelve years Dave has focused on his other great love, sport. He has worked with numerous Australian and international sporting organizations and his large scale works grace many halls of our AFL and NRL clubs.
Dave’s other love is………entertaining. Here we see Dave at his craziest best on Australian variety program – Hey Hey It’s Saturday. Dave has the honour of receiving the highest ever score on the shows “Red Faces” segment.
