In the video Dave Thomas Band with Stu McKie – “Pure Platinum” (DoomFoxx reunion), Bob and Doug McKenzie are a group of hilarious Canadian family members who hosted “Great White North”, a sketch which was introduced on SCTV – second city television for the show’s most popular season when it moved to CBC Television in the year 1980. Bob is brought to life by hilarious comedian Rick Moranis and Doug’s character is created by actor Dave Thomas. Despite brought to life originally as a joke to both follow guidelines and makes jokes about stupid Canadian content guidelines, the brothers morphed into a pop culture hit in both Canada and America. The characters became the focus of a hit comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
