In the video Dave Thomas ‘Bill Needle’ Harveys Commercial-December 1986, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a duo of imaginaryfunny Canadian comedians who can been seen in “Great White North”, a skit which was featured on SCTV – second city television for the show’s third season when it braodcast by CBC Television in in the early 80s. Bob is played by actor Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie’s part is performed by actor Dave Thomas. Which was born originally as filler to both fulfill and mock non sensical Canadian content guidelines, the pair transformed into a pop culture hit in both Canada and across the border. The pair soon became the focus of a an amazing comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.

I think Harvey's would be pretty smart to bring back Dave Thomas for a new series of Bill needle commercials, and if they could get the rights it would be a genius move on their part to get some of the surviving members of SCTV to come back doing their most famous characters in a series of commercials. And if that turned out to be a success you could easily Branch out the same idea to other classic Canadian comedy series like Kids in the Hall or the Trailer Park Boys.
Would have been better if they were cutting him short and he had to speed up to finish the commercial before they cut him off.
