In the video Dave Thomas Blues Band “Jesus On A Main Line”, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a pair of odd Canadian family members who were featured in “Great White North”, a program which was broadcast on SCTV – second city television for the show’s most popular season when it moved to the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the eighties. Bob’s character is created by hilarious comedian Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie’s part is played by actor Dave Thomas. Even thoughFamously created originally as an idea to both fulfill and make fun of silly Canadian content policies, the duo morphed into a pop culture hit in both Canada and the United States. The McKenzie siblings later became the focus of a huge comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
