Bob’s character is performed by Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie’s part is brought to life by Dave Thomas. The sketch was brought to life originally as a skit to both please and laugh about silly Canadian content guidelines, the pair transformed into a pop culture success in both Canada and across the border. The McKenzie siblings soon became the focus of a hit comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.

Or that he acted alongside Henry Fonda, Jonathan Winters, John Cleese, Richard Pryor, Zach Galifiankis, Whoopi Goldberg, Mary Louise Parker and Ashton Kutcher. Or that he directed John Travolta, Jean Stapleton and Max Von Sydow in theatrical motion pictures. He was friends with Bob Hope, Harold Ramis and Johnny Carson.
He wrote “Spies Like Us” with Dan Aykroyd. He did voices on “The Simpsons” and “Family Guy”. Or maybe the thing that you know Dave Thomas for hasn’t been on yet. Dave Thomas is in his sixties, he’s still working, and still trying new things.
