Bob and Doug McKenzie in Dave Thomas – Cold Harbour

In the video Dave Thomas – Cold Harbour, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a pair of imaginaryfunny Canadian siblings who are responsible for “Great White North”, a segment which was featured on SCTV for the show’s third season when it got sold to the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the year 1980. Bob’s character is played by actor Rick Moranis and Doug is created by comic Dave Thomas. The bit was developed originally as an idea to both fulfill and laugh at stupid Canadian content guidelines, the siblings morphed into a pop culture hit in both Canada and across the border. The McKenzie brothers went on to become the focus of a huge comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
