Bob and Doug McKenzie in Dave Thomas College & Career Readiness Pop up

In the video Dave Thomas College & Career Readiness Pop up, Bob and Doug McKenzie are two of made up Canadian siblings who hosted “Great White North”, a skit which was introduced on SCTV for the show’s third season when it braodcast by CBC Television in the eighties. Bob’s part is brought to life by hilarious comedian Rick Moranis and the character Doug is brought to life by comic Dave Thomas. Although developed originally as filler to both satisfy and laugh about non sensical Canadian content policies, the two grew up to be a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and the States. The brothers soon became the focus of a bestselling comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
