  1. Dave Thomas. What an ace!! I hope that he has an open mind. With GLAUCOMA there is a possible hope to restore his sight with ZEBRAFISH capsules that restimulate the stem cells in the eyes.
Hope this gets to him and he tries this treatment that could restore some or all of his sight. I hope he does and this message gets to him. Good Luck. Shame you did not play with Leighton James at QPR. What a combination.

  2. I’m a private hire cabbie not only did I see him play when I was a boy but I also drove him and Hannah when he was promoting his book!
One of nicest blokes you’ll ever meet. A real diamond and Hannah was impeccable. she just curled up at his feet in the front footwell.

  3. My all time favourite QPR player over the last 50 years. Thanks for all the great moments you gave the club and all the great moments your still giving to people with your new venture.

  4. Fantastically brave ! Dave you were magnificent for Rangers, made so many goals out of nothing and scored some blinders too. They talk about Ronaldo running as fast with the ball as without it… you did that week in week out ! A wonderful unselfish winger in that beautiful 1970s Rangers side ! Respect and best wishes Dave

  5. Oh bless him , I know he wouldn’t want me feeling sorry for him but it brought a tear to my eyes . Grew up watching this man in 70’s playing for QPR , what a great player .
    Thanks for memories Dave .
    Best wishes

  6. Incredible and fascinating player. I remember watching him play for the Vancouver Whitecaps in North America. He beat two defenders at once with ease. Great to see he has Hannah.

  7. One of the great wingers…I’m a West Ham boy from a time before, when 99% of yu team were British…and what a team QPR had back then. Days when a tackle could be heard from the stands and when football was simply football without the £notes and a lot less razzmatazz….thank you Dave Thomas⚒

  8. I had a client who was an Everton fan as soon as I told him I’m a Rangers fan he started off about Dave, he and his family had regular debates about who would be in Everton’s all time best 11, the one position they didn’t argue about was left midfield – Dave Thomas.

  9. Some of my great memories of watching Everton began with Dave and Bob latchford, they were goal machines and its great to see him looking so well.Hes clearly coping with glaucoma and best of luck in the future to a true Everton hero.

  10. I'm sitting here filled up – That was SO touching – He was one of the greatest, and what a team that QPR side was. Much respect to you Dave, you're doing real good mate, and your beautiful dog is The BEST! x

  11. I met Dave when I was a DJ at Burnley Mecca and for such a great player he was always very humble, it is heart warming to see this lovely guide dog and the understandable emotion for being remembered by so many; thanks Dave for all your brilliance.

  12. I lived in next street from you Dave in wokingham and Remember you out cutting ur lawn and us kids cycling past trying to see you and you were amazing to us. My family still support qpr because of you. Dave your a true star love u xxx

  13. Dave Thomas was such a fantastic player. Whenever, I talk about our great QPR side in the mid 1970's, I always say ' Thomas, Bowles, Francis' He was right up there with them two. He was as quick as lightning. He could play on either wing (although I remember him running down the left wing mostly) He could cross a ball with either feet, and could he chip in with some incredible goals. The goal against Leicester City to win 1-0 at Filbert Street in our great season, brilliant! A goal against Chelsea to win 1-0 in a midweek game. Another gem. That great run and finish against Derby (who went on to win the championship) to help us to a 4-1 win. He was a win wizard! Tycer was a gem! They don't make them like him anymore. I absolutely loved him as a player, and he is a gentleman as well. He doesn't even feel sorry for himself with his impaired vision. That says everything you need to know about his character. All the very best to him and thank you for all those happy memories you gave me back in the 70's. I treasure all of them.
