  • Another brilliant footballer like Stan Bowles, I wish him well in everything he does, will contribute to the fund.

  • Dave Thomas was such a fantastic player. Whenever, I talk about our great QPR side in the mid 1970's, I always say ' Thomas, Bowles, Francis' He was right up there with them two. He was as quick as lightning. He could play on either wing (although I remember him running down the left wing mostly) He could cross a ball with either feet, and could he chip in with some incredible goals. The goal against Leicester City to win 1-0 at Filbert Street in our great season, brilliant! A goal against Chelsea to win 1-0 in a midweek game. Another gem. That great run and finish against Derby (who went on to win the championship) to help us to a 4-1 win. He was a win wizard! Tycer was a gem! They don't make them like him anymore. I absolutely loved him as a player, and he is a gentleman as well. He doesn't even feel sorry for himself with his impaired vision. That says everything you need to know about his character. All the very best to him and thank you for all those happy memories you gave me back in the 70's. I treasure all of them.

  • I lived in next street from you Dave in wokingham and Remember you out cutting ur lawn and us kids cycling past trying to see you and you were amazing to us. My family still support qpr because of you. Dave your a true star love u xxx

  • I met Dave when I was a DJ at Burnley Mecca and for such a great player he was always very humble, it is heart warming to see this lovely guide dog and the understandable emotion for being remembered by so many; thanks Dave for all your brilliance.

  • Dave was my coach when i was a player at bognor fc, learnt so much from him, are there anymore book signings planned? Would love to meet him again. pk

  • I'm sitting here filled up - That was SO touching - He was one of the greatest, and what a team that QPR side was. Much respect to you Dave, you're doing real good mate, and your beautiful dog is The BEST! x

  • I saw Dave Thomas today in Morrisons, Barnard Castle.
He's still looking good, fit and lean.

  • amazing guy and great winger, enjoyed watching you at loftus road with those socks rolled down around your ankles.

  • Dave Thomas was a footballer from the top drawer. He should have gained more than 8 England caps.

  • Some of my great memories of watching Everton began with Dave and Bob latchford, they were goal machines and its great to see him looking so well.Hes clearly coping with glaucoma and best of luck in the future to a true Everton hero.
