Bob and Doug McKenzie in Dave Thomas Junior – 5000 Miles

In the video Dave Thomas Junior – 5000 Miles, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a couple of made up Canadian siblings who can been seen in “Great White North”, a program which was televised on second city television for the show’s third season when it was broadcast on the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the 80’s. The character Bob McKenzie is acted by the funny Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie is brought to life by comic Dave Thomas. Which was brought to life originally as fluff to both please and laugh at non sensical Canadian content legislation, the characters became a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and the USA. The McKenzie siblings became the focus of a bestselling comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
