Bob and Doug McKenzie in Dave Thomas Junior – A Moment

In the video Dave Thomas Junior – A Moment, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a duo of made up Canadian brothers who are responsible for “Great White North”, a sketch which was included on SCTV for the show’s most popular season when it moved to CBC Television in in the early 80s. Bob is acted by actor Rick Moranis and Doug’s part is performed by comic Dave Thomas. Although developed originally as filler to both please and laugh at stupid Canadian content legislation, the siblings grew up to be a pop culture smash hit in both Canada and the US. The brothers later became the focus of a classic comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
