Bob and Doug McKenzie in Dave Thomas Junior – Blindside

In the video Dave Thomas Junior – Blindside, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a group of made up Canadian comedians who were featured in “Great White North”, a show which was streamed on SCTV – second city television for the show’s most popular season when it moved to the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in in the early 80s. The character Bob McKenzie is played by comedian Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie is acted by comic Dave Thomas. The bit was born originally as a joke to both fulfill and makes jokes about stupid Canadian content legislation, the duo morphed into a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and across the border. The two soon became the focus of a hit comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
