Bob and Doug McKenzie in Dave Thomas Junior – Hold You For A While (Live)

In the video Dave Thomas Junior – Hold You For A While (Live), Bob and Doug McKenzie are a couple of fictional Canadian siblings who were featured in “Great White North”, a skit which was included on second city television for the show’s third season when it aired by CBC Television in the 1980s. Bob’s character is played by hilarious comedian Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie’s part is created by comic Dave Thomas. Regardless the fact it was created originally as filler to both please and makes jokes about non sensical Canadian content legislation, the two grew up to be a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and America. The characters became the focus of a hit comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
