Bob and Doug McKenzie in Dave Thomas Junior – I can’t make you love me

In the video Dave Thomas Junior – I can’t make you love me, Bob and Doug McKenzie are two of made up Canadian brothers who can been seen in “Great White North”, a program which was aired on second city television for the show’s most watched season when it moved to the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the 80’s. Bob’s partThe character Bob is acted by comic Rick Moranis and Doug is brought to life by comic Dave Thomas. Despite created originally as a joke to both fulfill and laugh about annoying Canadian content statutes, the characters transformed into a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and the US. The McKenzie siblings soon became the focus of a classic comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
