Bob McKenzie is played by hilarious comedian Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie is played by the comedian Dave Thomas. Although born originally as a sketch to both follow guidelines and make fun of annoying Canadian content laws, the characters grew up to be a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and the States. The brothers soon became the focus of a bestselling comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
