In the video Dave Thomas Junior – Late Night Whisky Heartbreak Song, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a duo of made up Canadian actors who created “Great White North”, a show which was aired on SCTV – second city television for the show’s most watched season when it aired by CBC Television in the 1980s. Bob’s part is played by comedian Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie is played by actor Dave Thomas. The bit was developed originally as filler to both fulfill and laugh about annoying Canadian content demands, the characters became a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and the US. The McKenzie siblings enetually would become the focus of a hit comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
