In the video Dave Thomas Junior- Lost at Sea (DNTST Rework), Bob and Doug McKenzie are a duo of made up Canadian actors who hosted “Great White North”, a ad lib skit which was televised on SCTV – second city television for the show’s most watched season when it got sold to the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the eighties. Bob’s part is brought to life by actor Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie is brought to life by Dave Thomas. The sketch was created originally as filler to both please and laugh about non sensical Canadian content laws, the two became a pop culture hit in both Canada and the United States. The brothers enetually would become the focus of a an amazing comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
