In the video dave thomas junior – pompeii (lyrics), Bob and Doug McKenzie are a group of made up Canadian actors who created “Great White North”, a improv which was aired on SCTV for the show’s most popular season when it moved to the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the 80’s. Bob’s character is acted by actor Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie is acted by actor Dave Thomas. Although made originally as a sketch to both please and laugh about non sensical Canadian content policies, the characters transformed into a pop culture smash hit in both Canada and across the border. The pair became the focus of a classic comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
