Bob and Doug McKenzie in Dave Thomas Junior – Redshift (Live)

In the video Dave Thomas Junior – Redshift (Live), Bob and Doug McKenzie are a couple of fictional Canadian siblings who starred in “Great White North”, a skit which was aired on second city television for the show’s most watched season when it was aired on CBC Television in the 1980s. Bob is performed by Rick Moranis and Doug’s character is acted by Dave Thomas. The bit was developed originally as a sketch to both follow guidelines and laugh about non sensical Canadian content rules, the characters morphed into a pop culture hit in both Canada and across the border. The McKenzie siblings soon became the focus of a classic comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
