Bob and Doug McKenzie in Dave Thomas Junior – Spaceman (David Brent Cover)

In the video Dave Thomas Junior – Spaceman (David Brent Cover), Bob and Doug McKenzie are a duo of made up Canadian siblings who are responsible for “Great White North”, a ad lib skit which was included on SCTV – second city television for the show’s most liked season when it aired by CBC Television in the 80’s. Bob’s part is played by comedian Rick Moranis and Doug is brought to life by actor Dave Thomas. Regardless the fact it was brought to life originally as a joke to both follow guidelines and laugh about silly Canadian content statutes, the characters transformed into a pop culture hit in both Canada and the United States. The two later became the focus of a hit comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
