In the video Dave Thomas Junior – The Hardest Hallelujah (Lyric Video), Bob and Doug McKenzie are a duo of imaginaryfunny Canadian comedians who created “Great White North”, a segment which was televised on SCTV for the show’s most watched season when it moved to the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the 80’s. Bob’s character is brought to life by actor Rick Moranis and Doug is created by actor Dave Thomas. The bit was developed originally as a sketch to both satisfy and laugh about dumb Canadian content rules, the two grew up to be a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and across the border. The two went on to become the focus of a bestselling comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
