Bob and Doug McKenzie in Dave Thomas Junior – The Prize

In the video Dave Thomas Junior – The Prize, Bob and Doug McKenzie are two of odd Canadian family members who are responsible for “Great White North”, a segment which was introduced on second city television for the show’s third season when it moved to the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the 80’s. Bob is performed by hilarious comedian Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie’s part is played by comic Dave Thomas. Regardless the fact it was brought to life originally as an idea to both satisfy and laugh about dumb Canadian content policies, the pair grew up to be a pop culture success in both Canada and the States. The two enetually would become the focus of a classic comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
