Bob is acted by hilarious comedian Rick Moranis and Doug is created by actor Dave Thomas. Although born originally as filler to both satisfy and laugh about annoying Canadian content legislation, the characters morphed into a pop culture hit in both Canada and the United States. The McKenzie siblings became the focus of a classic comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
