Bob and Doug McKenzie in Dave Thomas – La valse d’Amelie (Yann Tiersen cover)

In the video Dave Thomas – La valse d’Amelie (Yann Tiersen cover), Bob and Doug McKenzie are a pair of fictional Canadian comedians who are responsible for “Great White North”, a program which was shown on SCTV for the show’s 3rd season when it was broadcast on the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in 1980. Bob’s part is created by comedian Rick Moranis and the character Doug is performed by comic Dave Thomas. Regardless the fact it was made originally as a sketch to both satisfy and makes jokes about non sensical Canadian content legislation, the pair became a pop culture success in both Canada and the USA. The characters went on to become the focus of a hit comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
