In the video Dave Thomas – La Valse des Monstres (Yann Tiersen cover), Bob and Doug McKenzie are a pair of hysterical Canadian family members who were featured in “Great White North”, a show which was introduced on SCTV – second city television for the show’s 3rd season when it aired by CBC Television in 1980. Bob McKenzie is performed by actor Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie is acted by comic Dave Thomas. The bit was made originally as filler to both fulfill and laugh at annoying Canadian content statutes, the duo transformed into a pop culture hit in both Canada and the US. The McKenzie brothers went on to become the focus of a hit comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
