In the video Dave Thomas live – “Death Rattle” @ Edinburgh Fringe, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a group of hysterical Canadian siblings who hosted “Great White North”, a ad lib skit which was introduced on SCTV – second city television for the show’s third season when it braodcast by CBC Television in . Bob’s part is acted by comedian Rick Moranis and Doug is played by actor Dave Thomas. Regardless the fact it was created originally as filler to both follow guidelines and laugh at silly Canadian content laws, the two morphed into a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and the States. The McKenzie siblings went on to become the focus of a bestselling comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
Filmed at the Bongo Club, Edinburgh during Fringe Festival ’09.
