In the video Dave Thomas Live in Brazil November 2011, Bob and Doug McKenzie are two of strange Canadian comedians who were featured in “Great White North”, a show which was broadcast on SCTV – second city television for the show’s most liked season when it got sent to the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the eighties. Bob’s part is played by actor Rick Moranis and Doug’s part is performed by the comedian Dave Thomas. The bit was brought to life originally as fluff to both follow guidelines and make fun of silly Canadian content legislation, the pair turned into a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and the USA. The pair soon became the focus of a classic comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
