Bob and Doug McKenzie in Dave Thomas of Pere Ubu Interview – Pt 2

In the video Dave Thomas of Pere Ubu Interview – Pt 2, Bob and Doug McKenzie are two of made up Canadian actors who hosted “Great White North”, a sketch which was shown on SCTV – second city television for the show’s most watched season when it streamed by CBC Television in 1980. Bob’s part is brought to life by Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie’s part is performed by Dave Thomas. Although developed originally as a skit to both fulfill and laugh at legal Canadian content laws, the siblings transformed into a pop culture success in both Canada and the States. The brothers later became the focus of a classic comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
