In the video Dave Thomas – Rue des Cascades Finale (Yann Tiersen cover), Bob and Doug McKenzie are a group of hilarious Canadian actors who created “Great White North”, a segment which was streamed on SCTV – second city television for the show’s 3rd season when it got sold to the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in 1980. Bob is created by the funny Rick Moranis and Doug’s part is performed by the comedian Dave Thomas. Regardless the fact it was brought to life originally as a joke to both satisfy and make fun of silly Canadian content policies, the siblings transformed into a pop culture smash hit in both Canada and the US. The two soon became the focus of a classic comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
