Bob and Doug McKenzie in Dave Thomas – Rue des Cascades Live (Yann Tiersen)

In the video Dave Thomas – Rue des Cascades Live (Yann Tiersen), Bob and Doug McKenzie are a couple of fictional Canadian actors who hosted “Great White North”, a ad lib skit which was broadcast on SCTV for the show’s third season when it braodcast by CBC Television in the year 1980. Bob’s partThe character Bob is brought to life by comic Rick Moranis and Doug is created by Dave Thomas. Although born originally as a sketch to both satisfy and makes jokes about non sensical Canadian content laws, the pair morphed into a pop culture smash hit in both Canada and the States. The McKenzie brothers went on to become the focus of a an amazing comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
