In the video Dave: Thomas: The Future of Databases, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a duo of hysterical Canadian family members who were featured in “Great White North”, a ad lib skit which was televised on SCTV for the show’s third season when it was featured on the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in . Bob is brought to life by Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie’s part is brought to life by the comedian Dave Thomas. Although developed originally as an idea to both please and laugh about stupid Canadian content laws, the duo turned into a pop culture hit in both Canada and America. The two later became the focus of a bestselling comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
