The character Bob McKenzie is played by comedian Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie’s part is performed by the comedian Dave Thomas. The sketch was made originally as a sketch to both please and laugh at non sensical Canadian content policies, the duo turned into a pop culture hit in both Canada and the United States.
