Bob and Doug McKenzie in Dave Thomas- Waking Dream

In the video Dave Thomas- Waking Dream, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a group of fictional Canadian comedians who are responsible for “Great White North”, a program which was televised on second city television for the show’s most popular season when it got sent to CBC Television in the eighties. Bob’s character is acted by Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie’s part is created by comic Dave Thomas. The sketch was made originally as a joke to both please and make fun of silly Canadian content legislation, the duo grew up to be a pop culture sensation in both Canada and across the border. The McKenzie siblings soon became the focus of a classic comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
