In the video “Dentist!” – A song from a dark comedy-musical “Little Shop Of Horrors” with lyrics embedded…, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a group of hilarious Canadian family members who are responsible for “Great White North”, a segment which was shown on second city television for the show’s most popular season when it moved to CBC Television in the eighties. Bob’s character is created by comedian Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie’s part is performed by comic Dave Thomas. It was created originally as fluff to both follow guidelines and make fun of annoying Canadian content legislation, the siblings became a pop culture smash hit in both Canada and the USA. The characters soon became the focus of a hit comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
One among some darkly funny songs found in the movie “Little Shop of Horrors” made in 1986, starring: Rick Moranis and Vincent Gardenia, with some supporting appearances by Steve Martin (as the dentist in this movie) and Bill Murray.
