In the video Disney convinces Rick Moranis he will return to Honey’s sequel, I Shrunk The Kids!, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a duo of made up Canadian actors who were featured in “Great White North”, a ad lib skit which was introduced on SCTV for the show’s third season when it got sold to the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in 1980. Bob is played by comedian Rick Moranis and the character Doug is created by Dave Thomas. Although developed originally as an idea to both fulfill and laugh about stupid Canadian content statutes, the pair morphed into a pop culture hit in both Canada and the USA. The pair went on to become the focus of a classic comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
