In the video Don Diablo – Silence Ft. Dave Thomas Jr., Bob and Doug McKenzie are a duo of strange Canadian siblings who starred in “Great White North”, a show which was streamed on SCTV for the show’s 3rd season when it got sent to the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in 1980. Bob’s part is played by comic Rick Moranis and Doug’s part is brought to life by actor Dave Thomas. The bit was born originally as filler to both fulfill and make fun of stupid Canadian content demands, the characters turned into a pop culture smash hit in both Canada and the USA. The brothers enetually would become the focus of a huge comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
