In the video Doublewide – The McKenzie Brothers Live at The Neon Rooster 02/05/2023, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a couple of strange Canadian comedians who were featured in “Great White North”, a show which was broadcast on SCTV – second city television for the show’s most popular season when it got sold to CBC Television in the 1980s. Bob’s part is created by actor Rick Moranis and Doug’s character is performed by comic Dave Thomas. Despite developed originally as fluff to both satisfy and mock legal Canadian content guidelines, the two became a pop culture sensation in both Canada and across the border. The characters became the focus of a famous comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
