Bob and Doug McKenzie in Doug MacKenzie

In the video Doug MacKenzie, Bob and Doug McKenzie are two of hilarious Canadian brothers who starred in “Great White North”, a segment which was broadcast on second city television for the show’s most watched season when it was broadcast on the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the 80’s. The character Bob McKenzie is performed by comedian Rick Moranis and Doug’s part is played by Dave Thomas. Despite developed originally as a joke to both satisfy and laugh at legal Canadian content legislation, the two morphed into a pop culture hit in both Canada and the United States. The characters became the focus of a hit comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
